The Book of Wishes is here and it’s unbelievably good.

Adventures of the Mind

Be there.

Wherever.

Whenever.

However.

Be Neil Armstrong, placing the flag

Get Michael Jordan’s signature on your bag

Dive down to the very bottom of the ocean

Play the violin in a symphony, create a commotion

Save the world like Superman

Use confetti cannons for your battle plan

Bareback ride on a humpback whale

Surf down a jade green dragon’s tail

Walk your pet cheetah in the open park

Bungee jump from Golden Gate bridge in the dark

Play against extraterrestrials in a game of football

Join a notorious biker gang and ride through nightfall

I wish these adventures would skyrocket well beyond

Our inner boundaries, our normal puddle, our everyday pond,

Making these treasures become our existence

Some journeys we could have without any assistance

My wish you ask…?

Be there.

Wherever.

Whenever.

However.

Book Launch – The Secret Book of Poetry

A huge thank you to Laingholm Primary for hosting the launch of the Secret Book of Poetry!

We had a wonderful morning and it was a real treat to hear 15 talented poets read their work.

The launch was a wonderful way to wrap up the Secret Poetry Project, which was a collaboration between myself and performance poet, educator, producer and publisher, Gus Simonovic.

Gus and I have been busy running workshops, poetry camps and collecting submissions as part of the project.

Overall we wound up with 100 poems from children aged 4 to 16 which we published in The Secret Book.

All of these 100 poems are inventive and many are daring, cheeky, hilarious and brave.

They show us new and extraordinary things, celebrate secret worlds and remind us that everyone has their own unique perspective.

I can’t wait for the next project!  More details to come in August…
